My question "Should we start a list?" - was not a good question as,
understandably, some of you thought I was suggesting yet another discussion list. I just
meant a list on the website that we could print and take to libraries when using indices,
etc. Sorry for the confusion. There are already NINE spelling variation lists on RootsWeb
(see 2 below). I subscribe to them all and they are all very quiet.
This link will give you links to three items listed below:

1) To see the chart, click on SPELLING VARIATIONS CHART.
Feel free to submit other spelling variations you have seen in your research.
2) To see other discussion lists, click on MAILING LISTS AND MESSAGE BOARDS.
If you know of any other lists/boards please let me know.
3) New DNA results - our first McKENNA, click on DNA SURNAME PROJECT **

Note to Doreen - When your site is ready, let us know (and I'll link to it from the
above site).
Note to Jim McKenna who wrote: <But for someone selling participation in a DNA project
that might make sense
and more money.>
Just for the record - DNA project managers are volunteers, work very hard,
get NO payment, NO kickbacks, NO free tests, NO nothing . . . . And I've
never seen a company "selling" their project on a discussion list - that
would be against the list rules.
