This is a follow up to yesterday's post regarding our first matches.
When our first tests came in before Christmas we received all 25 marker results on the
same day. Hence, yesterday when only 12 marker results arrived I assumed those
participants had ordered the 12 not the 25 marker tests. Today their remaining markers
came in. Now I know that both sets of markers may not always come at the same time.
Here's what FTDNA said
"Generally the last 13 come within a few days of the original 12 marker
test. In this case the results of the last 4 (464 a-d) failed in batch
49 and the rerun of it has been slow in coming."
We are pleased to report that P2 and P1 (possibly the "Dutch" line) match 25/25.
This definitely establishes a "signature" for this line.
We are also pleased to report that G 1 and H1 are a 24/25 match - this is only one
mutation off and hence we can safely state this establishes another "signature"
line (possible the Salem MA line but we need at least one more test with a participant
documented to this line to confirm that).
T 2 ordered 25 markers before Christmas and the first set of results arrived at that
time. Apparently the second set of testing had to be re-run by the lab. It will be
interesting to see his full set of markers. He clearly is closer to G 1 and H 1 than to P
1 and P 2; however, not close enough to indicate a MRCA since, well . . . . since cave man
days . . . .
It is usually my policy to post DNA updates no more often than once a week (although the
Group Admin at the most active list said she saw no problem if there were no more than one
a day).
We are extremely fortunate to have two good matches so early in the project.
