I remember you saying that about your branch of the Cannells, however when
you mentioned tracing your cannells back to 1692 - I wondered if perhaps our
families might have a common ancestor.
I haven't been able to trace my ancestors back very far at all, however I
have traced my husband's back to the Norman's and later they came to North
America as Quakers in 1690 (New York) and bought land directly from the
Indians: then they came to Canada as Empire Loyalists to Digby Nova Scotia:
then they settled Ontario and later participated in the Upper Canada
Rebellion of 1836: then they took off to settle the American West and some
became Mormons and that's why we have his history.
I guess there are no Cannell Mormons.
Go figure!
