Nice to hear from you. Yes the name Wally Cannell did come up in my search. Was his Mum
Ellen Primrose? Was his Father a soldier? That is a name on the 1911 Census and I think
she was born around 1900.If that is the case then yes we will be connected. My Father is
Anthony Louis Howell whose Mother was Dorothy Cannell. We were always told that Dorothy
was Italian and an only child. Her Father had a grocery buisiness in Salisbury and she
died giving birth to my Father. How wrong was that!!! Once I started to find out things
and getting certificates I realised that my Father was actualy 18 months old and Dorothy
had died having another child I think. My father was born in 1930. I know there were two
daughters and a son (Frank) older than Dorothy and I think two more daughters were born
after her Ena and Mary. I know that Dorothy is buried in the Devizes Road Cemetery. I have
spoken to John Cannell whose Father was Frank junior and he sent me some photographs of
the Cannell siste!
rs.
Frank senior was married to Nelly and they moved to Salisbury from Islington London and he
was born in Hoxton. I think Nelly was born in Nottingham. If you can let me have any more
information I would be very grateful. Do you live in Salisbury?
