The link is supposedly that the Norfolk Cannels were all descended from 3
brothers who were fishermen that originally came from IOM but little has
ever been found of any actual provable link to this effect even to the dates
in question

Hi Elizabeth
Thank you for your reply. I have been looking for an Elizabeth (Eliza)
Cannell born in 1836/7 in Ketteringham, Norfolk, England, possibly father
John Cannell (born approx 1802) and mother Mary Goulty.
I am also looking for Anne Cannell (possibly a sister of John Cannell) who
married a James Doe in Kensington, Middlesex, England in 1842.
Anne's daughters, Susannah Mary Elizabeth McKaig nee Doe and Eliza Cannell
Seaward nee Doe got probate for Eliza Cannell in 1908 as "cousins german".
I was hoping that the information about the probate would help me track down
the correct Eliza Cannell.
There seem to be a lot of Cannell branches and the surname seems to vary in
spelling which makes it difficult.
Do you know of a link between the IOM and Norfolk branches?
Thank you.
