Hello all. The email below has been sent out by Rootsweb.
The following problems have been identified and are being addressed by
our staff, as of Tuesday, August 20th:
1. Repairs to one of our mailing list servers (lists2) on Monday
restored the lists to normal processing. However, a queue of previously
unprocessed messages is being released slowly, causing some messages to
arrive days after originally sent and out of date sequence.
2. The programmers have identified a problem with the threaded archives
(mailing lists) that prevents messages from displaying. In the meantime,
these non-visible messages will be accessible via the searchable
archives.
3. The search engine for the USGenWeb Project Archives is not
functioning. We are nearing completion of a new search engine.
4. There is a problem with the gateway between message boards and
mailing lists not staying open.

So be patient and don't tear all your hair out in one go (save a little
for
later as there may well be more problems before things are back to
normal!)

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some
are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors...but they all
have to learn to live in the same box.
