Luanne,
Please forgive me for putting a personal response on the list, but my
response might be of interest to others.
Following is the URL for GPC's online bookstore, if you want to check it
out online:
http://www.genealogybookshop.com/
If you prefer the mails, their address in the book is:
Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc.
1001 North Calvert Street
Baltimore, Maryland 21202
I truly do not recall what I paid for the book a couple of years ago, $35
(US) seems to stick in my mind but I cannot confirm that, but it has bee
worth the price to me. I have found a wealth of my own line in it, I am
still finding information in it a few years later. All of the Cann
information is on my web page if you want to look at it:
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~decann/genealogy/master_notes/
I am still working on some of the other lines not as close as the Canns,
though, and some of that is there as well, including a connection to the
original Mayflower Pilgrims of 1620. I am still working on it and if you
come back to the page from time to time you will find more as I can get it
entered.
Just FYI, I am descended from Sir Thomas Cann, Lort Mayor of Bristol,
England around 1600. Some of his descendants moved to present day New
England and Nova Scotia, although they are scattered all over the world
now. Most remained loyal to the Crown, though, and as Tories many of them
in New England moved north and settled in Nova Scotia to avoid problems
with the Revolution.
Hope you can find something in the book. If you or anyone else out there
would like to exchange a GEDCOM of information with me, I would be very
interested in doing so. I do not get concerned with size of exchanges as
some do, just a simple "you send something, I send something" is fine with
me, and I will senn you all the information I have if you want it all,
including notes and sources. Genealogy is history, and as such it belongs
to everyone, and we freely share anything we have with anyone interested in
it.
Again, please forgive me for posting the response to the list, especially
one so long, but this information might be of interest to the others as
well. To you and anyone else responding privately, I promise to respond
privataly in the future.

Hi David!
Please send me information on the book about the Nova Scotia Canns.
I know my relatives said they were "French Canadian" but I have as yet to
find out exactly where they came from. Maybe this book would help.
Thank you,
