Hi Margaret,
Here is the Ontario reg'n for the Thomas & Sallie marriage:
6829-74 Thomas CANN, 50, widower, farmer, Cornwall England, Darlington, s/o John &
Ann, married Sallie FRANCIS, 43, Cornwall England, Whitby, d/o Henry & Sallie, witn:
E. J. H. & M. A. KENNER? of Oshawa , 27 May 1874 at Oshawa (Ontario Co., 1874)
I think your 1881 census record is correct for Thomas, Sallie & Harry.

Harry Cann is in Port Hope, Durham Co. in 1901, married to an Ida.
Cann Harry M Head M Apr 12 1862 38
Cann Ida A F Wife M Nov 22 1869 31
And since Harry is a nickname for Henry, I expect this is Harry's marriage to Ida
which give us Thomas' first wife (well almost).
10644-97 (Durham Co): Lewis Henry CANN, 24, farmer, Hope twp., same, s/o Thomas CANN &
Charlotte PENCHID?, married Ida Sophia JOHNSTON, 23, Hope twp., same, d/o Robert JOHNSTON
& Eliza ARMSTRONG, witn: William COYLE of Hamilton twp & Minnie JOHNSTON of Hope
twp., 27 Jan 1897 at Port Hope
So if those Wesleyan baptisms are for a Thomas Cann and Elizabeth, then I don't think
they belong to the Thomas Cann who m1. to Charlotte and m2. to Sallie.
I hope this helps a little.
Bette
