Benjamin Cann (born ca. 1730 in Bristol, England) according to my research is the
progenitor of a major Cann line in my genealogy located in Canada, to which he migrated in
the 1750s. He was reportedly married ca. 1761 to Ann (surname unknown) , and they lived
in Bristol. I have been searching for two decades now for his siblings and/or parents
without success, and would very much like to locate them.
Additionally, I am 10g-grandson of Sir Thomas Cann (b. ca. 1578), also of Bristol, and
through my research I've grown convinced (though UNdocomented) that Benjamin likewise
descends from Sir Thomas. For this reason, I am once again trying to find the right path
(either forward from Sir Thomas or back from Benjamin) to connect the two. Even if it
DISproves my theory that Benjamin descends from Sir Thomas, I would very much like to find
his parents and siblings after all these years.
For information, I have information that Benjamin and Ann had seven children and will
furnish information on them if someone wants it. If anyone out there can help me with
this long-time mystery and shed any light on it at all, I welcome hearing from you with
any information great or small. I have nearly 1,800 Cann surnames in my database, and
will be more than happy to share any information that I have with anyone interested in it.
I thank you in advance for any information or guidance you can offer.
