Leilani: I found your Thomas & Martha (Underwood) Canfield in my Canfield
research. You may already know, but his parents listed as THOMAS (5th
generation) & LUCY (BURR) - These and more I found Thanks the LDS's 'THE
ROSE CANFIELD COLLECTION" and the 'DICKERSON, CANFIELD....RELATED
ANCESTORS"
there is quite an extensive amount of genealogy research completed by Dr.
Amos Canfield (1860-1880's approx.) where he tracked almost all known
Canfields from 1640 era (THOMAS & MATTHEW CAMFIELD/ CANFIELD) to 1880's.
These films are worth gold for Canfield researchers. Can rent them through
local LDS and also see the file names via
www.familysearch.com and their
bibliography & printed material computer files. Good hunting. Sandy Childs

Response to Jan:
This may be a stretch, but my ancestor Buckman Canfield b. 1800, lived in
Volney, Oswego Co., NY. His father was Thomas Canfield and mother Martha
Underwood.
Buckman Canfield and his wife Harriet Putnam moved to Harris Co., TX in
1832.
Buckman died there in 1844. She died in 1892 in TX as Harriet
George.
If any of the above sounds interesting to you, let me know and I will
share
any other information.
