Re: The 1800 Silas being too old or too young -- don't know what the answer
to that would be. The unthinkable possibility looms that it isn't "our"
Silas (Sr. or Jr.), but the coincidence of that seems remote. I think I
mentioned that I found this info on the NARA film of the 1800 census of
Essex Co., NY -- and the 1810 of same. I hope to write the Crown Point
Historical Soc. at some point to see what they have on hand. We'll see.
At the Historical section of the Bennington Museum in Bennington, Bennington
Co.,VT, I found the Vital Statistic film involving Manchester, VT. It lists
everyone by surname alphabetically. The interesting information on the
cards show mother's & father's name and location of mother at birth. Also
what place the new child has in the family (i.e. second childs, etc.). It
is a newly acquired film and I hear cost them a bundle to obtain. I don't
know if it is available via LDS or elsewhere. I do know that their staff is
quite helpful and experienced so will no doubt help anyone who contacts
them. They have website for such purposes (sorry, at this writing, I don't
know website specifics).
I have more but am running out the door and will talk to you later. Sandy

Hi Sandy
If Silas Jr was 22 in 1800, or still 21 when enumerated, and if Sr was
born
in Apr 1741 and so 59 in 1800, then this 26-45 male could be yet a
third
Silas, cousin or something. Too young to be Sr, too old to be Jr. Unless a
mistake was made when enumerating the age. Which is also quite possible.
What film did you see that gave you the dates of the children of Silas
Sr.?
Ron
