CANFIELD -- Joe Raymond, 81, of Ramona, OK, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at his
residence. He was born December 31, 1924, in Tulsa, OK, to David Raymond and Alice Ann
(REED) CANFIELD. Joe grew up in the Tulsa area. He married Norma Jean TODD on April 24,
1942, in Stillwater, OK. She preceded him in death on June 21, 1994. Joe worked as a
farmer until 1954, and then he went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company, retiring in
1981. He was a charter member of the Sperry Christian Church, and helped get the funding
for the church. His hobbies were gardening, story telling, playing and watching baseball.
He enjoyed cards, dominos, and spending time with his family. Joe is survived by: 2
daughters, Sandra Sue (Sandy) HOGUE and her husband, Vernon of Skiatook, OK, and Linda Lou
ATOR and her husband, Wes; 11 grandchildren, Jeff HOGUE of Haskell, OK, Angela WESTMORLAND
of Skiatook, David STUBBINGS of Skiatook, Cara BLEVINS of Skiatook, Lora WALKER of
Claremore, John !
ATOR of Collinsville, Beth BAILEY of Sperry, Kim ATWOOD of Skiatook, Paul ATOR of
Skiatook and Robbie ATOR of Skiatook; 31 great-grandchildren and 12
great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by: 2 sisters, Flossie HERRON and Betty
JONES of Tulsa; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by:
his parents, his wife, Norma; a daughter, JoAnn Marie STUBBINGS; 1 brother; and 3 sisters.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the Sperry Christian Church,
with interment at Osage Garden Cemetery, Skiatook, under the direction of Peters-Stumpff
Funeral Home, 396-1111 (Area code 918).
