PJ: Last night I ran across of a piece of information that may be
of
interest
for you although it is way out in left field - but it did have some
interesting
components. I was searching in California Death Records for my
Mackinder
clan,
and found a death of a Iva Mae Mackinder b. 8/10/1904, whose
mother's
surname
name was MORRIS, father's surname was LOSEY, and they were from
MICHIGAN
(no
county given). This may have no relation to your man at all, but I
also
have
CANFIELD lineage and know they came from Michigan before immigrating
to
Iowa.
Mine came from the Three Rivers, St. Lawrence County area, although
there
are
other Canfields in Michigan of course. My Canfield ancestor married
a
McKinder
after coming to Iowa. My point? Perhaps another MORRIS girl/sister
married a
CANFIELD in Michigan and you got the GEORGE MORRIS CANFIELD you are
looking
for. Just a bare thread here. Good hunting. Sandy
