I admired your spirt before and now more than ever! I also realize what
your are saying about personal paperwork and turning it into readable
material - in case.... My daughter is after me to make a website which
includes my lineage because we have family strung all across the country who
I have bothered to death in my quest to obtain information. She thinks that
a website would be the easiest way for them (and others) to see my work.
But the trick is to get it coordinated and in some sort've cohesive form.
Right now I am just trying to feel confident about the material I have
gathered. You know! Been there, done that - right? My answer is - soon.
I have just realized this last week, thanks to the Rose Canfield Collection
and various other leads, that my lineage is Silas 5, Ira 6. Ira's son, my gg
grandfather, was Orsemus 7. Great discovery! It's been a good week as I
have also just "talked" via the internet to my "cousin" who's
grandfather
was a brother to my great grandfather. (I know, but its true.) She had a
great deal of family information but didn't start doing genealogy research
until this last month - and promptly found me. We make a great pair as we
each come from different information perspectives. Anyway, I wish you
continued good health and look forward to more Canfield conversations. Take
care. Sandy Childs

Sandy--yes, the editor of the Canfield Newsletter has 15-25 years of
collection. She may not have it input into any gen. software, soooo it
would be the problem of having to lend out her hard copies, BUT she could
have people volunteer to xerox her originals and then input or scan.
THERE IS A WAY of doing this.
I was just as protective of my collection until I fell and was quickly
dying in the intensive ward!!! Blood pressure dropped quickly after
surgery and I was peacefully going.
I swore if I got back to my house that all hard copies would immediately
go to my local gen. society. That is what I did and then started over
with new folders for the newer info.
Am in a wheelchair and doing fine.
Canfields are my direct line.
