Subject: Re: [CANFIELD] Hit with an Incoming Virus
Fellow researchers,
Friday evening, my Norton Antivirus caught an incoming email with one of
the BadTrans viruses. Trashed my inbox - I had to delete the whole kit
and caboodle. I was able to log on via the web and browse which files
were waiting to be downloaded. The file that had an attachment with a
subject line of just Re: was from Adrienne Stefanek.
I just tried to get my mail a few minutes ago and Norton AV caught
another infected incoming file. This one was from "John Canfield,"
again just the subject line of Re: with an attachment.
I'm thinking there may be several folks on the Canfield list who are now
infected. If you don't have anti-virus software it would be a good idea
to get it pronto -- and use it. Adrienne and "John Canfield" appear to
be spreading the virus. I don't know what it takes to remove a
virus/Trojan horse like this once a machine is infected. Even though I
lost a lot of stuff in my inbox, I'm just thankful Norton caught these
infected messages.
Blessings and peace,

If you are researching two individuals that were married, it is
usually a good idea to send your message to both surname lists.
