Scott: Thanks for the update on the Canfield Family Association and the
(probably) much needed rest for Genevieve. I am wondering if you could direct
some of us "new" Canfield researchers on how to tap into the family
information
already researched by your Association. Someone noted that we would only have
to go to our local library, and yet that seems a bit farfetched in thinking that
every library, no matter where, has a Canfield family book/research.
Where would we go to obtain copies of your newsletter or, better yet, research
on some of the first Canfield men -- I know my Canfield line up to 1814 in New
York. But that is where my Orsamus Canfield was born, the question leads to who
his parents might be and how would I get that information. I just cannot
believe with the large families they had before and all the many Canfields there
are out there right now that this early research is not on paper somewhere. I
don't mind the work, I just am curious about what information the Canfield
Family Assoc. has in the way of research -- and how do we tap into that. Thanks
for your kind assistance. Sandy C. in Glendale, Calif.

I am a member of the Canfield Family Association. I have received
much
help, and much good information from Genevieve (Canfield) Martinson,
Association organizer and editor of the quarterly publication. About a year
ago, Association members received notice that Genevieve was taking a leave
of absence, and if I understood correctly, the Canfield Family Association
would be "on hold" until further notice.
