My GGrandfather Clarence Lloyd FLEMING (b. August 1880, d. before 1958)
married Nina Adelle PHELPS (b. December 10, 1885, d. October 1975 in
Findlay, Hancock County, OHIO) on January 1, 1907.
Clarence was one of two sons of Elisa FLEMING (b. 1850 in Perry
Pennsylvania, d. September 22, 1911) and Ida Nora [surname unknown] (b.
August 1851, d. October 27, 1924, buried in Grove Hill Cemetery, Oil City,
Pennsylvania) who were married about 1875. There are no other known
children (at least not by my family).
The other son, Carl B. FLEMING (b. January 1883) was rumored as having run
away from home while in his teens and had unknown whereabouts at the time of
his mother's death. Ida Nora's will left all possessions to Clarence with
him having the decision to share with Carl if he was ever heard from. The
family rumor is that he ran away to California, but who know how true or
untrue that could be? Anyway, I would love to find anyone with any record
of any of the above individuals especially if you know of anything
concerning my GGreatUncle Carl.
I've got more details on the FLEMING line and will share if others are
interested.
Any help from those on the Phelps side with Nina Adelle PHELPS would also be
appreciated. I know her father was George Hamilton PHELPS (b. September
1854) and her mother, Hanna Adelle CANFIELD who is buried in the Maple Grove
Cemetery in Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio. But that is the extent of my
knowledge on her line.
Sincerely,
Jeff Fleming
