HI JAN, SEEMS LIKE IT COULD BE THE SAME CANFIELD FAMILY THAT NEVER SPOKE
ABOUT THEIR "KIN". I AM SEARCHING FOR GEORGE MORRIS CANFIELD, BORN 1894,
AND HE HAD RELATIVES IN IRONWOOD MI, WHO SENT HIM LETTERS WHILE HE LIVED IN
S. DAKOTA..
WOULD YOU KNOW IF THEIR WAS A FRANK OR WILLIAM FROM THE "UPPER" AREA
WHO MOVED TO SOUTH DAKOTA. '
ALSO NAMES OF: JENNIE, JOHN REE, EMILY AND SUSAN?
THESE ARE THE NAMES THAT I HAVE FOUND IN CHARLES MIX COUNTY , SOUTH DAKOTA.
THE FIRST PARTY THAT I CAN FIND THAT BOUGHT LAND THERE,BOUGHT ON THE DATE OF
5/18/1891.
ON GEORGE MORRIS'S DEATH CERTIFICATE IT SAYS THAT HE WAS "FROM" mACON,
MICHIGAN.. BUT THAT COULD VERY WELL MEAN MACOMB, MICHIGAN...
HAVE ANY CLUES? PJ CANFIELD

Thanks Sandy! I know my Canfield's stayed in the upper peninsula
at least
through the 1940's.(logging) Clarence Grant in buried in Minnesota, but
I'm
sure he retired there.
It is the same old story I've been reading from everyone else, none of
them
wanted to talk about their past and they barely kept in touch with
each
other! Jan
