Well, guess what, Clarence may be a brother.. cause George Morris fell out
of the blue sky into South Dakota, in the early 1920's, to Charles Mix
County.. I have been searching this weekend and found that there were
Canfield's in Charles Mix Co. before he arrived. so there fore he could
have relatives there first or even born there. The first property bought
there by a Canfield was 5/08/1891. There was also a Susan, Jennie, John
Ree, Francis Canfield Berry bought later on as did George Morris.. 1926 for
him. So I am thinking that Emily and Frank R,. were the parents or
Grandparents..There was a Wm who died there around 1896 to 1903 (can't
remember exactly) so therefore these Canfield's must have been related
because there "plots" for land were right next to each other at first..
George bought right next door to Emily and Frank R.
Sometimes you have to go through the "back door"s as my husband says..
And too there were more Canfield's that lived in
Bonne Homme Co. and a trail of them that lived during that era, all the way
to Sioux City Iowa, area... HHHHHMMMMMM, that is what I SAY! Let me know
what ya come up with...Pam Canfield

Pam,
That might make sense. , though I show 5 sons, one of them was nick-named
"Babe" and it could be the name of one of the 4 sons. One of the sons,
Warren, was killed in WW2. Clarence may have been a plumber, he worked on
a
dam in SD. He was my husband's grandfather and my husband
remembers going
to SD (Pickstown?) to see him as a boy in the late 40's -early 50's. My
Clarence was born March 3, 1885. One son, Richard John was born in
Montana.
Guess they moved a lot...Jan
