Ah, another person who stays up late working at genealogy.
Oops, I can see my fingers got mixed up along with my mind. I appreciate
your spelling it out as you did...I did have it straight in my mind, but
apparently did a bad job of describing it (not an uncommon situation, I
might add). Anyway, its nice to realize that are three of us Silas Sr.
descendants (actually four counting Elinor Jackson a descendant of your
Minor too) that "found" each other which ought to be very helpful in putting
the pieces of the puzzle together. I may have some helpful information,
which I will discuss via my email address: jschilds@pacbell.
Hope we can all help the others over "our brick walls". What brick walls do
you have with Elijah? I am sure we all have picked up pieces of information
that we don't know would be vital to the other.
I am still looking for the birth, marriage and death records for Ira and
his wife, Malissa (Elsie?) Newman. He either was born before Silas & Judith
went to VT or after. So I don't know if he was among the first born
children or the last. I do know, that he helped Hezekiah Graham to fulfill
his War of 1812 obligation. It shows on Hezekiah's application for pension
that his "brother Ira" filled in the last two months of his obligation. At
least I know he was old enough to be a soldier - somewhere between 15 and 40
I reckon - and it is on record. There is more, but it is late even for me.
Take good care. Sandy Childs

One clarification -- I'm descended from Elijah, Minor's
brother and
Hezekiah's son. I guess that would be a "minor" clarification? Ouch.
Sorry,
been a long day. But we three are all from Silas Sr, I believe.
Me: Silas Sr, Hezekiah Graham, Elijah E, ......
Pam: Silas Sr, Silas Jr., .....
Sandy: Silas Sr, Ira, ......
I think I've got that all right, don't I?
