One clarification -- I'm descended from Elijah, Minor's brother and
Hezekiah's son. I guess that would be a "minor" clarification? Ouch. Sorry,
been a long day. But we three are all from Silas Sr, I believe.
Me: Silas Sr, Hezekiah Graham, Elijah E, ......
Pam: Silas Sr, Silas Jr., .....
Sandy: Silas Sr, Ira, ......
I think I've got that all right, don't I?
Ron

Pam and Ron:
(First things first: Did you two know that you are related via Silas &
Judith Canfield. Ron is descendant from Minor Canfield a son of Hezekiah
Graham and who is a brother to Silas (Jr.). Pam's Silas (Jr.) is
therefore
an uncle. I am related to you both via Ira Canfield, a brother to
Silas
(Jr.) and uncle to Minor. Clear as mud? Genealogy shows it is a small
world.)
I am very happy to be at least discussing this possibility with other
Canfield researchers. It may very well be that there were no marriages
with
indian wives but since the Canfield's are a very, very old family
it is
something to consider.
Another possibility for me is that my Alice Canfield's mother is Hannah
Dunkin/Duncan from PA and it very well could've been Hannah or someone in
her line that was of Indian blood. Just examining all the possibilities.
By the way, my European ancestors are traced back to England, Ireland,
Norway and Switzerland. So you see those black eyes and hair would be
quite
an unusual trait. And right now, after another century of marriages,
only
one child out of our whole clan has these black eyes...it is just too
strong
a trait. Just curious. Sandy
