Thank you, Marcena -- I'll make note of that and check it out. I've seen
your exchanges with PJ and see that she and John were living in the 1860's -
is that right? Did you see my exchange with him where I think I found her
(Alice Hatch Canfield) in the 1920 Nevada census? That Alice as widowed and
about age 72 which would put her birth about the right time.
The Canfield's I am looking for are earlier than that -- from 1640 to 1814.
Or it may be that on of my ggg grandmother (wife of gggg Ira) Malissa/Elsie
Newman, or his son Orsemus' Canfield's wife (my ggg grandma Hannah
Dunkin/Duncan who were of Indian blood. Not sure about anything. Sandy

My great grandmother was Indian or part and from her
pictures,
she looked full blooded. Her name was Alice also, maiden name Hatch.
She
married John Canfield of NY. But I have not been able to confirm this.
