Marcena,
I am looking for ancestry of Amelia Canfield, baptized in Albany NY in 1806.
Could her family have come into NY from VT? Any help would be appreciated.

a Genealogy of their Descendants in New Jersey", compiled by Frederick A.

Is there any Canfield's on this list that has pictures dating back to 1898 at
Wm. H. Pilliner, Pioneer Artist, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I have a pictures of
my ggfather, John Canfield taken there. I thought that maybe someone has
pictures taken by this studio, we might come up with a connection.

Hi I have a Peter Canfield Born in Ireland who married Bridget Bryan in 1855
in New York City he was killed in Va while serving during the Civil war 13
Dec 1863 .They had a daughter Bridget who married John Connors. I have proof of
what I mentioned but nothing else. Can it match anything you have .Thanks Flo
It looks like our paths converge earlier than 1840. I have relatives
from New York but they are from a century earlier. I'll let you know if
I come across anything that might help you.

Marcena,
I've got a huge GEDCOM file I'm working my way through and it has a
bunch of Canfields in Utah and Kansas. I am closely linked to the Utah
branch by way of Chelsea Michigan. If you've got specific questions let
me know and I'll run a search. The file has lots of information
(Births, deaths, marriages and kids) but no supporting documentation.
Where are you in New Mexico, I just moved to Massachusetts from
Albuquerque last year.

I can't get my Canfield line out of KS in 1873. I only know this date
because of the 1880 for Box Elder, UT for the birth of their first child, Bert, Burt
or Bur Canfield. Sorry no help here.

Do you have info more current? I have been looking for my greatfather
Cobert Canfield or his father C.A. Canfield. They were from the west
coast.
Thanks

Subject: [CANFIELD] Looking for Information
Good morning,
My name is John Walker Canfield and I am just starting to research my
family history. I'm currently working with my aunt who inherited files
from my paternal grandfather which document my paternal line back
pretty comfortably to Gould CANFIELD (1770-1814) b. New Caanan CT d.
New York. My grandfather believed that he was the son of James CANFIELD
and Dinah KEELER (It helps that his wife was also a Keeler). I've found
all these names again on Rootsweb taking the line back much further to
Matthew/Mathew Camfield (1604-1673) and even further back to Normandy
France around 1066 (Lots of detail missing between here and there!).
I'm looking for any information or advice that you might be able to
share. I would really like to fill in the details about James and Dinah
because there is some information that links him to the Revolutionary
War. Do any of you have access to scans or PDFs of Canfield/Camfield
records and references that might help. Thanks!

Hi, John;
I don't have Gould, Keeler, or even James in my information. Our lines may
not meet until before Matthew Camfield. I'd be interested in seeing the
information you have going back to 1066. It's been a long time since I did
any research.
Thanks,
Scott Canfield
