The first information I have came from notes written By Lucy Cain Niles Stiles in 1899.
There were some errors I found but this is what she claimed. Samuel, his wife Agnes, his
brother John (a widower) moved to Albany N.Y. from Ballymena, Antrim County, Ireland.
Samuel was a shoemaker. They moved to Canada and settled in Cavan On. near Knowlson's.
Sam and Agnes's oldest son John ran away and they never found him. Agnes caught a bad
cold and died. Sam, very depressed, went for long walks. One day he got tired, lay down in
a carpentry shop owned by the Thompsons. It caught on fire and he died.(1834) Both Sam and
Agnes were buried at the English church near Knowlson's. I think this is St.
John's Anglican in Ida. The wooden markers decayed and I don't think one can tell
where the graves are.
They had 6 kids.
John who ran away, Edward who married Ann Thompson,(They are my GGgrandparents.) Margaret
(your relative), James,William, and Lucy Ann.
I have very little information on your family but I have some on the others.
Where do you live?
Susan
