I don't see a connection for your Harry Raymond and my husband's family . . .
yet.
Do you have access to the census records on this website? I found a Harry W. Candy living
in Johnsonburg, Elk County, PA in 1910 and 1920. He had a son, Raymond, who was listed as
1 year old in 1910 and 11 in 1920 - which is close to the age of your Harry Raymond at
these times. Also, I found it common in my family that when a son or daughter is named
after the father or mother, they called the child by their middle name.
Just a lead - but I'll be that when you get your grandfather's death certificate,
you'll find his father's name is Harry W.!
My husband's grandfather is Leonard B. Candy (born 1900 - so he would be the
generation with your grandfather). Leonard was born in Philadelphia, and his family
(going back 3 more generations) all lived in Philadelphia. If there is a connection - it
goes back farther than I have his tree at the moment.
