Cuz-in-law Darrell:
It has been a while since we last corresponded. To refresh your memory, my
husband is descended from Richard Sprigg CANBY, brother of your Ann CANBY
who m. Edward KITCHEN.
I have been actively researching my own line in the past year, and only
incidentally look for stuff on my husband's ancestry.
Did you ever make a connection between Richard and Ann's father Joseph
CANBY and the SPRIGG connection in Maryland? In her will, Ann SPRIGG, who
moved from Maryland to Boone Co., KY, specifically mentions Israel T. CANBY
as her "esteemed cousin" and also mentions "Richard CANBY, son of esteemed
cousin Joseph CANBY." I still haven't made the connection between the
CANBYs and the SPRIGGs, although, to tell the truth, I haven't really tried
recently. Apparently Ann SPRIGG never married.
There was at least one SPRIGG (which may have originally been SPRAGUE)
family in southern Maryland, but I have not actively pursued this line.
Have you?
