My records read:
George Canby (1545-1579) and Janet Briggs (1545-1629)
Edward Canby (1567-1650) and Jane -- (1564-?)
Theophilus Canby (1599-?)
Am I 100% sure of these? No. They are from secondary sources.

According to the book "Family History" by Henry Seidel Canby, George (b
abt. 1545) and Janet Briggs were purportedly the parents of Thomas (the
Officer). The book gives a descendancy chart with "perhaps Theophilus, who
died in Thorne in 1658". I could not find any other reference to
Theophilus Canby.
Unfortunately, this does not really answer your question. Seems to be an
unknown.
