I contacted a Canby researcher I know who has the date of death for Mary Canby
as 1754. Thought I would share her information on this.

Re: Mary Canby
The records I have came mainly from the Quaker Historical Library. They used to
have a great site about the Quaker families of Pa with lots of details. It is no
longer available that I know of.
Mary Canby - born 1697 - died 1754 in PA.
Married Joseph Hampton in 1722 Joseph - 1702 - 1767
Children were -
Sarah 1723
John 1724 - 1775
David 1727 - 1757
Benjamin 1728 - 1811
Jane 1730
Joseph 1734
Mary 1738
Jonas 1740
James 1742
The original Anchor Tavern in Wrightstown PA was built in 1724 by 21 year old
Joseph Hampton.
It was one of the country's oldest continuously operated taverns. It was
destroyed by fire in 1998
I often wondered if this was the origin of the Hampton Inn Chains of today's
hotels.
Hope this will help with your questions on Mary Canby Hampton.
In searching for my Camby/Canby connection, I saved some misc. information
and thought I would start posting it, in the hopes it might help someone
else who is a descendant. I'll just start with this short entry and send
other emails to the list from time to time.
