Hello, I believe I can also connect into this line.
First,
Born: Aug.26, 1845 Michael Canavan of Anthony Canavan and Mary Mayock, Tonacrick
I have a "copy" of a marriage certificate from the Lahardane Chapel;
marriage of Michael Canavan (of Tonacrick) and Honor Lavelle on October 9, 1878; Michael
is son of Anthony Canavan as noted above. Witnessed by John Lavelle and Anne Mayock.
If I understand correctly Michael was the father of James, Anthony and John, not Anthony?

John Canavan, a stonemason, was my great-grandfather; he came to the US in May 1910 on
"Carmania", listing brother Anthony Canavan in Rochdale, England as closest
relative. Going to NJ to cousin James. (Ellis Island Ship manifests)
Brother James, a plasterer, came on July 4, 1910, on "Baltic", listed Mary
Brierly of Rochdale as nearest relative. Headed to NY to join brother John. (found on
Ellis Island ship manifests)
My information says that brother James did move to the Washington, DC area because...
John Canavan had a son, James Canavan, in 1915 (d.2002), (confusing I know!) who is my
grandfather. He resided in Philadelphia. My dad, also Jim, visited his great-uncle James
one time in the DC area. I have some more information about John's family.
My dad's brother resides in Philadelphia; one of his friends did a lot of this
research for us.
It appears that someone else may be more closely connected, but I didn't get to that
post yet if you could please forward this on too.
Julie Canavan Simpson
