In the 1850 Emanuel County, Ga. Census, it shows a
John Canada from SC (all the Canady/Cannady's are
spelled Canada in this census), age 65 w/Sarah age 50
w/children Solomon age 15 and Mary age 12. They are
living next door to Richard Edenfield age 54, from SC,
w/ Elizabeth, age 49.
In the 1860 Emanuel Co Census John Cannady, age 80,
is living with Peggy Edenfield age 45 and a George W. Linzey,
age 20. (Many of the Cannady girls married Edenfields.)
In the Pioneers of Wiregrass Ga, Volume 9,
it shows Richard Edenfield, b Jan. 6, 1800 - 04, married
(1) Elizabeth A. Harrington. Richard was a son of David Edenfield
who was born on Jan 19, 1761, In ORANGEBURG DISTRICT, SC.
David was the s/o Thomas Edenfield and Elizabeth Creamer,
who had moved from Delaware to NC and then to SC.
---------------
My question is this, does anyone researching the Cannady's or
Edenfield family have any deeds, or wills witnessed by a
Canada/ Cannady/Kennedy or showing this family as neighbors?
especially in Orangeburg or Barnwell District, SC? Both of these
families are from SC and I am trying to determine if this John
Cannady could be the father of Daniel B., Wm. E, and James H.
Cannady.
Thanks in advance
Claudia
