Mr. Willard Canaday, age 64, of Moniac, Georgia died Friday, August
22,
2003
in St. Vincent's Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida following an
extended
illness. Mr. Canaday was a native of Moniac, Ga and was the son of the
late R. L.
and Ida Stokes Canaday and was preceded in death by a sister Ella
Liddell.
Mr.
Canaday attended the Moniac Baptist Church in Moniac, Ga. He moved
to
Macclenny, Florida in 1958 and later moved back to Moniac in 1973 where he
resided
until his death.
Survivors include his wife, Mickie Prevatt Canady of Moniac, Ga. and four
sons, Williard D. "PeeWee" (Darlene) Canaday, of Macclenny, Fl., Weasley
"Ronnie"
(Brenda) Canaday of Moniac, Ga., John M. "Red" (Laurie)
Canaday of Moniac,
Ga., Allen J. "Jake" (Wendy) Canaday, of St. George, Ga., and one brother,
Millard Canaday of Maxville, Fla., two sisters Mary Geiger of
Jacksonville, Fl and
Linda Canaday of Macclenny, Fl., and ten grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 25, 2003 at 11:00 a.m.
in
the Moniac Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Colvin, paster of the
Moniac
Baptist Church and the Rev. James Conner pastor of the Riverroad Baptist
Church
officiating. Internment will follow in the Canaday Cemetery, Moniac,
Florida.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2003, at the
Guerry
Funeral Home, U. S. 90 East, Macclenny, Florida.
