Let's say it this way. Today and in the early settling of the colony
of Virginia the Kenndeys were more apt to be Irish whereas the
Canadays were more apt to be Ulsterites. Possibly they changed while
in Ulster? BRL

Oh, I don't know that I would call Kennedy strictly Irish -- Black
(The
Surnames of Scotland) has got Kennedy as early as 1185 in Galloway
(Scotland). Even the Scottish clan Kennedy notes that the name was
widespread throughout Ireland and Scotland VERY early -- making it
that much
