Hello, Carolyn Sue:
For the past several years I have been collecting information off the
internet as it might relate to my family. While my name is now Kennedy,
it had been changed from Cannady/Canady by my Grandfather some
125 years ago. My group was and is centered around the Metter/
Statesboro,
Emanuel County area of Georgia. I have traced back as far as a John
Cannady
located in the Darlington, SC area in the early 1800's, but ran into
a block
there. If you have any info on this clan, I'll be very glad to share
any info I have
in my files. However, I have virtually nothing to offer regarding
the areas and
dates you have cited below.
Good luck on your search.

Wasn't there someone recently looking for information on a Henry
Canida/Canady? Well, I don't know if this would be the same person
or not,
but I remembered hearing from somebody back in 1997 by the name of
Audie
Canida, and his great grandfather was a Henry Canida, born in 1835 in
Tennessee. Henry's first wife was Lucinda C. Askew in Jersey Co.,
Illinois,
in 1856, and then they moved to Saline Co., Missouri in 1863. This
info
comes from an e-mail I printed out from Audie and for some strange
reason, I
had kept it all these years, in with my Caleb Canady folder. Henry
later
married (after Lucinda died in 1872) a Loorinda Ellen Thornton in
Saline
Co., Missouri in 1873. Henry died in 1902 and Ellen in 1916 in
Johnson Co.,
MO. Henry had a least one brother that lived in Arkansas, his son
was Lark,
born 1854. That's all I know. However, I did find a web site:
http://home.swbell.net/audiec/canida.txt by Audie Canida, and I
noticed
there were other web sites re the same person.
