From My Dad's Research, Milo was My GGGrandfather Rosoline S. Canaday's
Brother. Rosoline was born in 1838 and died in 1922. Their other siblings
were: Solomon, Mary, Emma and Spicer. Their Parents were: Samuel Canaday,
(Born 1802 Died 1841) and Lovina Pharis. That's as far back as we have
gotten. We've tried very hard but can't find anything on Samuel Canaday's
Parents or Siblings.
Spicer Canaday was in the Civil War and was buried at Shiloh.
Any Other Info that you may have, I would greatly appreciate.
Thanks,
Doug Canaday

Surname: Canaday, Shelton, Snow, Gorham, Smyth or Smith, Dial
-------------------------
I am looking for information regarding the Canaday branch who settled in
Northeastern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. I have a Milo Canaday born
about
mid 1800's possibly in Kentucky. He married Sarah Lavina
Smyth/Smith and
had two or three boys before being killed as a result of a farming
accident.
I am guessing this may have occurred in Tyro, Kansas as this is where
my
Grandfather (Ed Lowel Canaday)was born in 1892. I don't know whether his
brothers were born before or after my Grandfather. His widow Sarah
remarried
a Thomas Harvey Shelton (a doctor) about 1896 in Independence,
Kansas.
Later they moved to Indian Territory reportedly so he could practice
medicine
on a reservation. Any information on Milo Canaday or his parents
would
be greatly appreciated.
