Need parents of William Canaday who received a land grant of 158 acres
from Thomas Jefferson in 1779. The land lay in Franklin County,
Virginia where William received another land grant consisting of 551
acres on Runnetbag Creek in Franklin Co. His wife was Nancy and his
children were as follows: (1) Misniah/Misnier who married Samuel
Underwood and lived in said county as did her siblings (2) WilliamJr.
b. ca. 1752. (3) James who mar. Elizabeth Rakes. James's will was
probated in said county in 1817. (4) Sarah who married John Radford.
(5) John who married Nancy ____ (6) Nancy who married James Allen.
