Response to Pat's message about Cannady family in Nelson Co KY:
About a year ago, a friend of mine sent me an article that she had clipped
out of a DAR Magazine which read as follows:

1780. Six more sons were b. in KY: Henry, James, Daniel, William, Isaac,
and George. submitted by Dorothea L. Kennedy, 17271 Via Carmen, San Lorenzo

If this appears to be your line, Pat, I believe I know of another researcher
working on the line.

Subject: [CANADAY] Kentucky Cannady
Hello,
My husband's line for the last three generations has been spelled CANNADY.
However, I have seen it spelled CANADAY, CANNADAY, KINNIDA, CANADY. I've
been able to find information on his ancestors back to Ashes Creek in
Nelson County, Kentucky. (John) Daniel CANADAY married Celia HELM in 1822
in Shelby County, Kentucky. They had 7 children; Sarah, Daniel, Elizabeth,
John Thomas, Hester, Mary Jane and Susan.
John Thomas CANADAY married Martha JEWELL (possibly YEWELLl) in 1852. He
married again in 1866 to Mary Belle WAKEFIELD. I can easily trace down
from
there, but I'm trying to find more on Martha JEWELL and on John
Thomas's
father, Daniel.
This family generally stayed in the Nelson/Spencer County, Kentucky area.
Many did move to Jefferson County, Kentucky later.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pat Cannady
