William Canady "Patrick Billy" was the grandson of William Sr. and
Nancy (________) Cannady of Franklin Co. Va. James was William Sr.'s
son. That's about all the fame that "William" ever received, being the
grandfather of the prolific grandson, Billie

Billie R. Lewis asked the William Canada of Bedford who left a will
in that county belonged to me. I presume that you are speaking of the
William whose will was dated 18 Dec 1790 and was probated Feb 1791,
and had just the one SON, William, and six daughters. No I find no
relationship to him either. While I was looking at the situation, I
thought perhaps I would list the Williams that I have found in that
vicinity so far:
William Kennedy married by 1777 in Rock Co VA to Martha Campbell
William Kennedy was a merchant in Rock Co VA in 1787
William Cannady marry 5 Apr 1786, Brunswick Co VA to Betsy Pilkington
Wm. Canady marr 22 Dec 1791 Brunswick Co VA to Rebecca Jordan, d/o
James and Abigail
Jordan. (Note: the Jordan family was also found in
Campbell Co and Bedford Co, and St. Andrews Parish records)
William Canady marr. 23 May 1798, Franklin Co VA to Mary Douty, d/o
elizabeth Douty who later marr a Parker
Wm. Cannaday, AKA "Patrick Billy", b. ca 1784, s/o James and
Elizabeth (Raikes) Cannaday, married Patsy Wright, who never weighed
more than 100 pounds - but mothered 24 children--3 sets of twins. This
family lived in Franklin Co before moving to Patrick Co. VA.
Bits and pieces for what they're worth! Lois Hupfer of Colorado
