Camden County Georgia has original records at their Court House that date back to the
1700's. Lots of Good information and documents. That is where the marriage of Eleanor
Baggs (West) (Brannen )Raulersons marriage to Noel Raulerson --August 3, 1815. is
recorded.
Noel Raulerson signed an affidavit in Camden Co Ga 3/18/1822 that he was the lawful owner
of a Negro Man Slave named Abraham about 30 years of age and was now about to be brought
into the State of Georgia from the Province of East Florida. He stated he was a resident
of Appling County Georgia. Noel and Jacob(born 9/26/1778) were brothers to Nimrod and
William, who was the Father of Westberry Raulerson.
Jacob Raulerson born 9/26/1788 also served in the Georgia State Militia during the War of
1812. He was commissioned on July 20 1813 as Lieut of the 33rd District of the Militia. In
1814 and 1815 he served as a mounted spy in the Wayne Co Militia-serving under Captain
Richard Walker at Fort Wayne. He is buried at the Raulerson Cemetery in Pierce Co Ga. His
Will was probated 11/2/1857.

In the Census of Bryan Co-1820-(Helender Williams)1830(William Williams) and in Columbia
Co 1840(William Williams-John D Williams--WH Williams) and 1850 John Canaday is always
living near the Williams Family. I have a document where they are listed in a record with
both Columbia Co Fla and Bryan Co Ga. 1860 New River Fla Census-John Canaday and Sarah and
son Marion are listed. Westberry and Elizabeth Raulerson are also in the 1860 New River
Census.
The above Thomas Canada is the Brother to John Canada born c. 1795-6. He fought in the
Indian War with them in Florida but always resided in Bryan Co Ga.
John and Thomas were both sons of Stephen Cannady who died in Bryan Co before 1830,
according to records of Bryan Co.
The John Tanner and West Raulerson listed above both became son-in-laws of John
Canaday. The James Albritton listed above became the son-in-law of William Raulerson and
brother in-law to West Raulerson. Frances Raulerson daughter of William and sister to
Westberry Raulerson married James Albritton, October 14, 1837 in Columbia Co Fla. They all
served under William Williams.

My record searching for John Cannady born c. 1795-96 started in Bryan County Georgia at
the Court House. I copied all the records from there before he came to Florida in the
1830's. John Canadays sister Elizabeth Canaday married a Barber first and became a
widow and then married James West.(I descend from her) John Cannady's last census was
listed in New River in 1860.
The sons-Francis Marionand William Jackson-and Daughters-Mary Tanner(John) and Elizabeth
Raulerson(West) were in Orange Co Fla in 1870. John Tanner and his wife Mary stayed in
Orange Co and according to records Elizabeth and West went back to Baker Co and the
Charlton Co area by 1880. Elizabeth and West Raulersons son- Wes.B Raulerson(born c. 1850)
married Louise Lamb(Lamp-Lamm) and stayed in Orange Co Fl(Apopka area) Their descendants
are there today.
The Orange Co Court Records stated that Sarah Canaday departed this life March 25 1879 and
had lived with her son Francis Marion for the last 13 years. In no place do I find
documentation of her name being Missouri. Do you have any records of Sarah Canaday listed
as Missouri? The dates of her actual death (according to Court Records)would dispute the
inscription on her alledged Tombstone in Moniac listing her as dying in 1840.(Records
dispute this date) The inscription of John Canaday's alledged Tombstone at Moniac list
1778-1860. In his records from 1820-1860 his age was pretty consistant with being born
between 1795 and 1796, not 1778.
I know we are talking about the same John Canaday and wife Sarah as the Court Records of
Orange Co Fla list their daughter as Elizabeth Raulerson and husband West Raulerson as
well as listing their other children by name.
