Please be so kind as to place the documentation-dates etc. about the Cannady and Raulerson
or Barber- Indian information on this site. It would be a Great Help for future
researchers. My ancestors are also the Barbers-Raulersons and Cannadys and what I have
placed on this site I have documentation for. Westberry Raulerson and his wife Elizabeth
Cannady WERE here in Orange County Florida in the 1870 Census living by her brothers and
sisters. Some of West and Elizabeth's descendants STILL are living today in Apopka
Florida.(I can send you their names and you can contact them) Many of the Cannady-Canada
descendants are still living today in Orange County Florida-Some at Fort Christmas. The
Court Documents of SARAH CANADY and her children are at the Orange County Court House with
the dates I have furnished in my previous posting. The children are listed by name as I
posted them. I have a copy of the actual Court Documents, with SARAH'S children listed
and WEST RAULERSON and his!
wife ELIZABETH are listed in it. If you send me your address, I will mail you a copy of
the Court Records. Possibly the RAULERSONS or BARBERS may have Indian Blood? but I find NO
Record of JOHN and SARAH CANNADY having any -----OR her name being MISSOURI.
When you have access to the Florida Census-Look at the Orange County Florida
Census-Division 17-July 5, 1870-Household 324 and you will see WEST RAULERSON and his wife
ELIZABETH and their children listed. It appears that after the death of ELIZABETH'S
Mother SARAH----- WEST and ELIZABETH moved back to the Charlton Co Ga area. I have their
Census and Church records for Charlton with JOHN M CANNADY listed with them. In the
Orange Co 1870 Census WEST and ELIZABETH are living next door to her sister MARY CANNADY
TANNER and her husband and children. Her 2 brothers--FRANCIS MARION and JACKSON CANNADY
were also in Orange Co.
I have 3 large books of documents on the CANNADY Family and the name at times in one
record may be spelled differently. So you have to consider all the various spellings when
looking for records-
CANNADY-CANADY-CANADAY-KENNEDY-KANADI-KANADA-CANADA-KANADY. The records are self
explaining. I didn't write them--only collected them from different Court Houses and
Military Records.
As for the DAR and UDC and Mayflower, I'm also a member in good standing. Lots of
wrong information is accepted into these programs, especially the Fla Pioneer Program.
Years later many Patriots and Pioneers have to be corrected-so we have to use actual Court
and Military Records and documentation. (One DAR I had to correct as the wrong man with
the same name was used. I found the actual records to prove different) This is actually
very common.Family History is exactly what it is. Stories that have been passed down for
Generations. Each time a story is told it changes, so it can't be used as actual
facts.
There is a possibility that the Raulersons may have been connected to Indians as some of
them were listed as spies in the Indian Militia War. If you did a DNA was it through the
Raulerson Line?
I descend from ELIZABETH CANNADY-daughter of STEPHEN CANNADY and she was a sister to JOHN
CANNADY born c. 1796 in SC-who removed to Florida in the 1830's-Columbia Co.
My Raulerson Line is through the original JACOB RAULERSON, who was a brother of WILLIAM
RAULERSON. JACOB is buried in the RAULERSON Cemetery just on the outskirts of Blackshear
Ga.
All of the information in my previous postings-I have documentation for.
