I found Chester & Mamie in 1910. The person who transcribed the census spelled it as
Caunsday but you can tell it is Cannaday. And you may know that spelling was rarely
accurate because it was at the discretion of the census taker. 1910 Oregon, Union County,
S. Elgin Pct, District 284. CANNADAY, Chester A., age 23, Married 1, Number of Years of
Present Marriage, 2. This census notes that Chester was born in Washington, and his
father & mother were born in Illinois.
It list his occupation as a laborer at a Saw Mill
Wife, Mamey H.,(This initial H is probably for Horn?) age 20, Married 1 time, Married 2
years. 2 Children Born, 2 Children Living. It notes that Mamey was born in Montana, and
both of her parents were born in Iowa. She is not employed but at home with children.
Children born in Oregon, Montley C. , age 1 & 5/12; Fern F., age 2/12. E-mail me at
CannadyGal1(a)bellsouth.net if you have question about this info. Hope it helps,
Regards,
Claudia
