Hi,
My name is Sandra and I have English and Canadian Campions.
Starting with Thomas CAMPION m. Elizabeth JACKSON in 1795 Sinnington,
Yorkshire.
4 Children
William b. 1798 ( my gg grandfather)
Richard b. 1796
Elizabeth b. 1802
Margaret b. 1811
I can find the first 3 born in Yorkshire, cannot find Margaret's birth in
England. I suspect she was born in Canada because both Thomas and son
William received land grants for service in War of 1812. The timing of the
grants indicates that they were resident in Canada when the war began. Also,
the whole family appears to reside in Canada except for Richard who lived
and died in Camberwell, Surrey. He had one child, Mary Barry CAMPION who
never married. I did turn up another child Elizabeth for Richard, but she is
not mentioned in his will, d. 1869.
William CAMPION married Mary POTTS in Ontario 1823, they had 10 children.
Mary Victoria CAMPION
b. 1839 married my g grandfather Henry FOWLDS.
The CAMPION daughters married Isaac BROADWORTH and Richard READ.
If anyone has any connections, I would be delighted to hear from you. There
was another CAMPION family in the town of Marmora Ontario, where my CAMPIONS
were, but I have not been able to connect them. As it was a small town, it
would be reasonable they would be connected. They are in my database as
strays so far. Names are George and Mercy CAMPION and they also had several
children.
TTFN,
