I have pictures of what is in the Argyll vault in the RCAHMS
Inventory
(likely there are copies in the Mitchell library, Glasgow's greatest
resource). Please don't waste too much time on the Ardentinny stones, it
was just if there were any obvious ones it might be worth my taking time to
have a look next time I am down that way.
Diarmid,
I've made a start but couldn't see any Ardentinny references. I should have
spent more time on site and copied down the actual wording becaude they are
so hard to read from photos.
However, the advantage I have is being able to scan in at 1200dpi and then
magnifying it by about 900% - the detail is remarkable.
I have put the first three pages of what I have done onto my web site so
that all may copy any photos they wish. The resolution is only 200dpi so if
anybody wants anything better just let me know.

track down on the left side and look for the SCOTTISH HISTORY marker and
then follow the index to Kilmun Kirkyard.
I've also shown a chronoligical porgression of styles of grave stone.
The others will be put up over a period of time, there is a bit of work in
manipulating rhe images enough to transcribe the inscriptions.
Interestingly, it solved a query for me straight away, whether Knockmillie
Castle was a Lamont or Campbell fortress - see the flag stone and
accompanying narrative.
I'd also be very interested to see what you have from the Mitchell, do you
have an index?
I have always found it difficult to get around in comparison to the NLS but
that is probably just my Edinburgh bias.
