Nancy,
Many thanks
What you found was a 'period piece' which I may use on 'Campbell Notes'
in
the quarterly Journal of the Clan Campbell Society (North America). One
hopes that all those who attended in 1952 are now in comfortable retirement,
although the facts are probably far more interesting!
I worked for some years in S.Cal.in the early sixties.
All best, Diarmid Campbell in Argyll in Scotland

While doing volunteer data entry at our local library in Ontario,
California, I came across this article which might be of some interest to
someone on this list. This does not relate to the Campbell surname that I
am researching personally. Nancy
Bridal Shower, Lunch Honors Miss Campbell
In honor of Miss Barbara Campbell, bride-elect of Harlan Nelson
of
Pomona, Mrs. Bruce Caldwell, aunt of the prospective bride, was the
hostess
at a luncheon and shower held Thursday at Laguna Beach.
The group assembled at the Victor Hugo Inn for luncheon at a
table
centered with a large wedding bell made of white stock and ribbon
and
flanked with white candles. The table was set on a terrace overlooking the
ocean.
Following the luncheon, the guests retired to the home of the
hostess, 224 Cliff Drive, where a table decorated with a pink parasol and
surrounded with gifts, greeted the honoree. During the afternoon each
guest
hemmed and monogrammed colored tea towels for the guest of honor.
The invited guests included the Misses Mary Cappa of Downey,
Donna
Dougherty of Westwood, Lucy Barnes of Santa Monica, Carol Andrews of
Westwood, Margerie Dahms, Miriam Kiersey, the Mesdames Clayton Dyke, J. R.
Campbell and J. B. Campbell.
