Asunto: Re: [Campbell] Looking for ancestors of Euphemia "Effie" Campbell
Livingston
From what I have found my lineage traces back to a John Campbell who
came to
the U.S.in 1620 (from Ireland) so probably no help to you. Sorry.

My Campbell lines , like so many, come mostly from Argyll. My
grandmother was Mary Campbell, daughter of Duncan Campbell, a dairy
farmer in Oban, Argyll.
His parents were Alexander Campbell and Isabella MacIntosh, who had
several large farms in th e area over the years. And I believe
Alexander's fatherwas also Alexander Campbell and mother Sara -- but
we're back in the very early 1700s, and records are skimpy.
They all seem to have had large families, so I guess I have cousins
all over the map. Among the names from the Oban area are: Binnie,
Watt, Cameron, Ferguson, Sommerville, Tryk, Nipperde y, and assorted
others.
Sorry I can't be more help.
