My Campbells were not far away from Iredell and Lincoln.
They were in Surry and Stokes Counties, North Carolina. The earliest
known Campbell in my family was John Campbell, b. 1775 in NC, and he was
definitely in Stokes by the summer of 1786. His mother was probably
Mary Hamilton, but it is not known who his father was.
I would love to work with others who are researching Campbells in this
area.

Lucinda,
My Campbells (more specifically John D. Campbell 1812-1890) were locatec
next-door in Lincoln/Catawba County. I probably have a tie-in with the
Campbells in Iredell but haven't been able to prove it yet. Would be
happy to collaborate with you.
