Yes, they should be registered. She should be able to find them in the OPRs
(Old Parish Records). Also the Scottish Record Office )SRO) may have
similar documents.

Please could someone tell me if marriages had to be registered in
Scotland
before 1855.
I am looking for the marriage of John Campbell to Ann Miller /Millar
between 1803 and 1810.
They apparently got married at Edinburgh Castle.
I understand from an old newspaper article that her father was Peter
Miller/millar
who was a ground officer to the Earl of Caithness.
How would I find out who the governor(s) of the castle were at that
time.
I have checked Scotlands people and the only marriage I can come up with
is John
Campbell and Agnus Miller who were married in Canongate Edinburgh on
30 Sept 1809.
One other thing--- were all deaths recorded/reported?
