Subject: James Alexander Campbell
Does anyone know of a James Alexander Campbell that was in Edgefield Co., SC in 1790 and
Abbeville Co., SC in 1800? He married a widow, Elizabeth Wilson Edmiston, about 1800.
This was probably his second marriage also. In her will she mentioned John and Lucy
Edmiston, John, James and Lydia Campbell.
Lydia Wilson Campbell b. March 12, 1806 was their child.
If James' birthday was 1801 as I was told, then he would be theirs also. As Lucy
already had a living son named John, I doubt that she would give another son that name so
John Campbell was probably James Alexander's by an earlier wife when the 1790 census
was taken. The 1790 census is not clear to me. What I found did not seem to fit the blank
form that I have..
Lydia Wilson Campbell married my ggg Grandfather, James W. McAlister, about 1826 in
Abbeville Co. Their son, Alexander Campbell McAlister was my gg grandfather. He had
several siblings, all born in Abbeville.
If anyone knows how to contact Luan Altaniz I would appreciate that knowledge. I have
tried two email addresses, I remember one; it was @trail .com.
