Anybody out there researching Allegheny Co. Pennsylvania Campbells?
I am researching the family of George Campbell, born in 1799 in Ireland
and married to Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) b.1810 in Pennsylvania.
They were married in America, abt 1820-1824, probably in Pennsylvania.
According to their daughter's obituary they had a large family of 10
children . They lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at least from 1827 on.
I've pieced together a partial listing of their 10 children. It is as
follows:
William b. 1824
Clarisa b. 1825
Sarah Ann b. January 19, 1827 d. January 16, 1915
Abraham Clark b. March 04, 1837
Jacob b. 1843
Sarah Ann Campbell's obituary said that in 1915 at the time of her
death, Abe Campbell was her only living sibling and resided in
McKeesport, PA. She was married twice, her first husband was George
Guthrie. She had 3 children by him, Mary Jane, George Jr. and Sarah.
After his death, she remarried to Timothy Cadman and had 7 more children:
Timothy, Frances, Dena, Samuel, Augusta, Lydia and Robert.
Abraham C. Campbell b. March 04, 1837 in Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania m.
Nancy Henderson in 1859 in Mckeesport, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania. She
died in 1879. He died January 18, 1919 in McKeesport, Allegheny Co., PA
and is buried in Versaille cemetery, along with alot of other Campbells.
His children were as follows:
Annie Belle CAMPBELL b: 25 Dec 1860
Laura CAMPBELL b: 30 Mar 1862
Edward Stanton CAMPBELL b: 25 Sep 1867 in McKeesport, PA
Nancy Delmar CAMPBELL b: 17 Feb 1879
I'm interested in connecting with any cousins who descend from any of
those mentioned, or any who might suspect that their Campbell may be one
of the 5 missing children of George and Elizabeth, who I have yet to
identify. It's unfortunate that they lived in a bigger city. A family
of that sized would have left a big mark on a smaller town.
