Isn't the DNA project primarily through the male lines? My brick wall is
Julia Campbell in GA, married a McMath and moved to AL.

Laura,
I do not know a whole lot about the Campbells in my tree.................but
while I have a Julia Campbell I know she is not the sameone as your Julia.
Perhaps there is some connection as I have not seen the name Julia very
often.........this is what I know..........
Jason Campbell married Jane Reid (I have a large data base of stuff on the
Reids and other allied families of theirs............while Jason must have had
money to have made it into this line...........I can not find any further
information on him). Jason was in Spartenburg SC 1820 and 1830. He married Jane
sometime before 1820. Since her family had been in Spartenburg for many many
years.............I assume Jason's family probably was too.
They had a daughter Julia Campbell (and several others...........some I only
know as Male and Female)............Julia married William Crawford in Calhoun
Co. AL in the late 1850s..........he went off to the Civil War and evidently
died and may have never returned home??????? I find Julia and her three
children in Calhoun Co. with no William in 1870.
As far as I can tell Julia never remarried and died in Calhoun Co. before the
widows pension for CW vets and their wives went into effect...........or
either she just never applied (which I find hard to believe...........thus my
thoughts that she died between 1870 and 1890).
Julia's daughter Frances "Fanny" married my great great grandfather Marcus
Strickland in 1876 Talladega Co.
AS I said I know little............but the name Julia figured it would not
hurt to contact you and let you keep this information with your records incase
something turned up later.
Thanks,
Debbie
