Ms. Elizabeth Booth of Cook County, Illinois has provided me with much information on Job
and John D Campbell , both of New York (I suspect Adamsville within the Argyle Patent),
who purchased land in Bloom Township, Cook County, Illinois in 1838. I have records,
census, and a will of property. The will contains many names of CAMPBELLs in this
township.
In 1850 Census Job and Rebecca CAMPBELL are numerated before my ggg grandfather Alonzo and
Julia CAMPBELL.
I also have photographs of the house with family pictures. The Campbell House has
survived and is an insurance company today in excellent condition.
While I did not find information regarding my ggg grandfather. I suspect a relationship
between them and my ggg grandfather as he is also from Adamsville NY. I am trying to find
the connection.
Also, I have many census images of Campbells in the following areas:
1800 Kingsbury Washington NY
1810 Kingsbury Washington NY
1820 Hartford Washington NY
1820 Kingsbury Washington NY
1830 Hartford Washington NY
1830 Kingsbury Washington NY
1840 Hartford Washington NY
1840 Kingsbury Washington NY
1850 Bloom Cook IL
1860 Pilot Vermillion IL
1870 Pilot Vermillion IL
Adamsville is actually South Hartford to extreme North Argyle, New York. Kingsbury is
very near also. Fort Ann not too much distance itself. Fort Ann has specific history
with the French Indian War and Highland Regiments as well as Captain Lauchlin Campbell of
Islay, Scotland. If you have CAMPBELLs of this area, please contact me and let's
share knowledge.
